Varenna to Como ferry: times, route and tickets

The ferry terminal is separate from Varenna-Esino station. Treat the station-to-pier handover as a real part of the journey, leave a margin, then use the selected ferry departure rather than assuming a train arrival connects immediately.

Some public-line sailings call at intermediate piers. Select a specific departure in the planner to see its published arrival time and every intermediate call instead of planning around a single generic duration.

Como is useful for a city stay or a south-end handover, but the ferry pier is not the same as every rail or bus stop. Open the arrival terminal in maps, then build the next leg from the actual place you will step ashore.

Use one way if you are continuing from Como, staying overnight or have not settled the rest of the route. Add a return only after you have chosen the time you want to leave Como; the planner checks the published reverse departures in that window.

Only use a sailing marked as a vehicle ferry. A direct passenger service does not automatically carry a car, motorbike or bicycle; capacity, conditions and the final fare must be confirmed with the operator.
