Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 Jan 2026

Welcome to teravia. By accessing or using our website and app — including public trips, guides, the Inspiration studio, and poster generation — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use teravia.

1) Who we are & what we offer

  • Trips. Day‑by‑day itineraries that can be shared by link. Trips are public by default.
  • Guides. The editorial layer built on trips: why a route works, when to go, and how to pace it. Guides are readable without an account.
  • Curators. Some users can create handcrafted guides (Curators). Curator is not required to publish public trips.
  • Inspiration studio. We can generate itinerary drafts via third‑party AI models.
  • Posters. We render posters for trips using images from allowed providers and/or images you upload.
  • Richer media (optional). We may allow uploading and viewing richer media (for example photos, videos, or immersive scenes). You are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions (including any required releases for identifiable people or private property) before you share this content.

2) Eligibility & basic rules

  • You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher).
  • Don’t misuse the service (no scraping, spamming, reverse-engineering, or illegal use).
  • Respect intellectual property, privacy, and applicable laws when using or sharing outputs.
  • If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we may suspend or delete the account and erase associated personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.

3) Accounts & access

You may use teravia without creating an account. Certain features may be rate-limited or gated. If you do create an account in the future, you are responsible for safeguarding it.

4) Rate limits & fair use

  • Some features are limited for free accounts (for example, Inspiration studio capacity and the size of your saved trip library). Plus unlocks additional access (for example, an unlimited saved library). Limits may change over time. We aim to make material changes predictable and aligned with user trust.
  • Automated use that degrades service for others is not allowed. We may throttle or suspend usage.

5) Accounts, Connections, and Collect

  • Connections (calm model). A Connection is mutual. Profiles show a single “Connections · {count}” number (mutual only). No public follower/following counts or leaderboards.
  • Requests. You may see a private list of people who connected to you; you can Connect back or Dismiss. No notifications and no public lists.
  • Collect. You can privately save trips to your collection. No public “likes” or who‑collected lists; your collection is private by default.

6) Personalization (private signals)

We may use private, in‑product signals (e.g., your own connections and collections) to personalize your experience. These signals are not displayed publicly and are never sold.

7) Subscriptions, auto‑renew, and cancellations

  • Auto‑renew. Plus is a subscription that auto‑renews unless you turn off auto‑renew in your account.
  • Cancel at period end. We do not expose an “end now” option in the UI. This means access continues until the end of the current billing period after you turn off auto‑renew.
  • Changes & refunds. Features and prices may change. Except where required by law, we don’t provide refunds for partial periods.

8) Account deletion & content after deletion

  • You can request account deletion in your account. We cancel billing immediately and remove or anonymize your personal data, including profile details and social signals.
  • Authored content is anonymized where feasible (e.g., trips and images). We may retain license/attribution records where required by third‑party terms or law, and minimal records for security/accounting.
  • Deletion is intended to be irreversible; residual backups expire on their normal cycle.

9) AI content — important notices

  • AI outputs can be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. They are provided “as is” for inspiration only.
  • Always verify details (opening hours, safety, visas, weather, transport, prices, etc.) independently.
  • AI may generate content that resembles existing works. You are responsible for your reliance on any output. We do not intentionally train on or reproduce proprietary works.
  • Third‑party AI providers. To generate itineraries, summaries, and translations we may send your prompts and related context to third‑party AI providers under their terms. We configure these services to minimise personal data where possible.

10) Images, licensing & attribution

  • Third‑party images. Some posters and media use images from third‑party providers. Where we show credits or license notices, you agree to preserve them if you share or export the content.
  • Poster backgrounds. By default we select from providers that allow commercial use and derivatives (for example Unsplash or Pexels). We may exclude images that prohibit commercial use or derivatives. We show attribution where required.
  • VR and uploaded media. For VR scenes, photos, or videos you upload, you are responsible for ensuring that your use and any onward sharing is compatible with applicable licenses and that you have required permissions or releases (for example where people are identifiable).
  • You must retain any attribution and license notices embedded in our UI if you export or share images externally.

11) Your content

  • Ownership. You retain ownership of the trips, text, images, and other material you submit.
  • License to teravia. To operate and improve the service, you grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and transform your content (e.g., generate thumbnails/posters, cache assets, and present your trip by link). This license ends when you delete the content, except for reasonable backups, required legal records, or non‑identifying aggregates.
  • Do not upload content you don’t have the rights to share; you remain responsible for your submissions.

12) Public sharing & links

  • Public by default. Trips and guides are shareable by link and may appear in teravia discovery surfaces. Anyone with the link can re‑share it, including outside teravia. Avoid including sensitive information (for example phone numbers, booking codes, precise home addresses, or passport details) in titles, notes, posters, immersive media, or images.
  • Thumbnails & posters. We may generate thumbnails/posters and cache related assets to operate the service and improve performance.
  • Removal. If you delete a trip, we remove it from public view. Caches and backups may persist for a limited time.

13) Privacy & cookies

We process limited technical data (e.g., IP hashes for anonymous rate-limiting) and usage logs to operate teravia. Learn more in our Privacy Policy. We use cookies/Storage for essential features and to remember preferences.

14) Third-party services

We integrate with third‑party services (for example AI providers, image providers, payments, hosting/database). Their availability and terms may affect your experience. We are not responsible for third‑party outages.

15) Disclaimers

  • The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
  • Travel involves risks. You are solely responsible for your decisions and safety.
  • No professional travel or safety advice. teravia is not a travel agent or booking service and does not provide professional travel, visa, safety, medical, or financial advice. Do not rely on teravia for emergency routes or safety‑critical decisions; always consult official sources and local guidance.

16) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, teravia and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim or (b) USD $50.

17) Termination & suspension

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of these Terms, legal risk, abuse, or operational reasons. You may stop using the service at any time.

18) Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.

19) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, and disputes shall be resolved by the courts of Denmark, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
