Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 Sep 2025

Welcome to teravia. By accessing or using our website, maps, AI itineraries, and poster generator, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use teravia.

1) Who we are & what we offer

  • Map & Place Thumbnails. Place thumbnails may be fetched from Wikimedia and cached to our storage with appropriate attribution/metadata.
  • AI Inspiration. We generate short itinerary ideas via third-party AI models.
  • Itinerary Poster. We render inspirational posters using images from allowed providers (e.g., Unsplash, Pexels; optional CC sources if explicitly enabled).

2) Eligibility & basic rules

  • You must be at least 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country).
  • Don’t misuse the service (no scraping, spamming, reverse-engineering, or illegal use).
  • Respect intellectual property, privacy, and applicable laws when using or sharing outputs.

3) Accounts & access

You may use teravia without creating an account. Certain features may be rate-limited or gated. If you do create an account in the future, you are responsible for safeguarding it.

4) Rate limits & fair use

  • We apply per-day usage limits (e.g., number of AI ideas per day) and may adjust these from time to time or for specific users (e.g., internal test accounts).
  • Automated use that degrades service for others is not allowed. We may throttle or suspend usage.

5) AI content — important notices

  • AI outputs can be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. They are provided “as is” for inspiration only.
  • Always verify details (opening hours, safety, visas, weather, transport, prices, etc.) independently.
  • AI may generate content that resembles existing works. You are responsible for your reliance on any output.

6) Images, licensing & attribution

  • Map thumbnails. When thumbnails are sourced from Wikimedia/Commons, we cache a copy and store the author, license, and file-page URL. Popups display attribution and links when required by the license.
  • Poster backgrounds. By default we select from providers that allow commercial use and derivatives (e.g., Unsplash, Pexels). If Creative Commons is enabled, we exclude images that prohibit commercial use (NC) or derivatives (ND). We show attribution where required.
  • You must retain any attribution and license notices embedded in our UI if you export or share images externally.

7) Your content

  • If you submit text, locations, or other material, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use it to operate and improve the service (e.g., to generate itineraries you request).
  • Do not upload content you don’t have the rights to share; you remain responsible for your submissions.

8) Privacy & cookies

We process limited technical data (e.g., IP hashes for anonymous rate-limiting) and usage logs to operate teravia. Learn more in our Privacy Policy. We use cookies/Storage for essential features and to remember preferences.

9) Third-party services

We integrate with third-party APIs (e.g., AI models, map tiles, Wikimedia). Their availability and terms may affect your experience. We are not responsible for third-party content or outages.

10) Disclaimers

  • The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
  • Travel involves risks. You are solely responsible for your decisions and safety.

11) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, teravia and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim or (b) USD $50.

12) Termination & suspension

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of these Terms, legal risk, abuse, or operational reasons. You may stop using the service at any time.

13) Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.

14) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your principal place of business (or, if you are an individual, your country/region of residence) unless local law requires otherwise. Venue and jurisdiction will be the courts where teravia is established.
