About Teravia

Travel planning should have a human point of view.

AI can find information quickly. It can compare options, organize data and answer increasingly complicated travel questions.

What it cannot replace is the judgement that comes from knowing a place, caring about the details and deciding what is actually worth recommending.

That is the idea behind Teravia.

Teravia combines human travel curation with structured information, live data and technology that helps keep published work useful over time.

The technology supports the work. It is not the reason to trust it.

The person behind the work

Why I built Teravia

I'm Matteo, the founder of Teravia.

I'm Italian, from Padova, and spent the first part of my life in Italy before moving abroad in 2012.

Travel has always been important to me, but Lake Como is one of the places I have returned to again and again.

I started visiting Bellagio and the surrounding lake regularly while living in Italy and kept returning after I moved abroad. What has always drawn me back is the combination that makes the lake difficult to reduce to a checklist: ferries and boats connecting small towns, mountains rising directly from the water, historic villas and villages, and Milan close enough to reach easily while the lake feels like another world.

I understand why generations of writers, artists and travelers kept coming back to it.

When Teravia needed a first destination to explore properly rather than superficially, Lake Como was the obvious choice.

Not because it was simply a popular destination, but because it was somewhere I already knew and cared about enough to question the details.

A clear distinction

What curation means here

Teravia does not pretend that every piece of information comes from personal experience.

Some recommendations are based on places personally visited or experienced. Transport information may instead be built from official schedules, operator information and structured data, then reviewed and interpreted by Teravia.

We try to make that distinction clear.

When a page says Curated by, there is human judgement behind its recommendations and structure.

When a page says Reviewed by, Teravia has checked and interpreted information originating from external or official sources.

Where schedules, prices or operating conditions can change, the original operator remains the final source of truth.

The longer view

Beyond Lake Como

Lake Como is Teravia's first destination developed in depth, not the limit of what Teravia is intended to become.

The longer-term goal is to give serious travel curators better tools to publish what they know, keep it useful, build authority around their work and earn from it without reducing their expertise to static PDFs or disposable social content.

Technology should make good travel curation stronger.

The human should remain visible.

We are slowly sharing updates as we build Teravia.
